Our blends
If Re Firma is the easy everyday, Gran Mezcla is the one with a passport. A medium-dark blend that pulls beans from three continents into a single cup, with a bit more going on than your average milk coffee.
Caramel, milk chocolate and orange over a rich chocolatey base. Medium-dark, with a bright acidity. Great as espresso, through milk, or on a stovetop.
What it tastes like
Gran Mezcla is layered. You get luscious caramel and smooth milk chocolate up front, a vibrant orange lift, then nutty, dark-chocolate depth underneath with a dash of honey sweetness. It finishes with a bright acidity that keeps the whole thing lively.
It is rounded enough to drink with milk every day, but interesting enough to reward a proper taste.
Three origins in one cup
The name means grand blend, and it earns it. The beans come from Colombia for height and structure, Brazil's renowned Carmo de Minas region (naturally processed) for caramel and chocolate, and the Wahgi Valley in Papua New Guinea for savoury depth and a hint of citrus.
Across the blend, the altitudes run from 300 to 2,070 metres, the processing mixes natural and fully washed, and the green coffee scores between 80 and 84 on the specialty scale. It is a lot of work for one bag, and you can taste it.
How to brew it
Gran Mezcla is espresso-forward and shines through milk, so it is a brilliant upgrade for your morning latte or cappuccino. See our espresso at home guide to dial it in.
It also loves a stovetop. On a moka pot it gives you a rich, syrupy cup with all that caramel and chocolate, our stovetop guide shows you how.
