Coffee guide
The world's rarest coffees usually mean a plane ticket or a small fortune. Not always. Right now we have two rare Colombian micro-lots from one celebrated grower, roasted in Hurstville.
Our Santa Monica Pink Bourbon and Colombia Geisha are limited single origins from grower Jairo Arcila in Quindio, Colombia. One took Silver in 2024, the other is 100% Red Gesha, the variety behind the world's priciest coffees. Both are $28 a bag and roasted weekly in Hurstville.

Why rare coffee costs more
It comes down to the variety, the yield and the work. Geisha is delicate, grows in small high-altitude lots and is wildly in demand, which is why it sells for some of the highest prices at auction anywhere. Pink Bourbon is a rare hybrid that takes patient, careful processing. Small lots, big effort, special cups.

Our Santa Monica is a Pink Bourbon micro-lot. The cherries go through a long anaerobic natural ferment with lulo added, then dry on raised beds. The cup is bright and complex: ripe lulo, lime, and caramel with condensed milk. It took Silver at the 2024 awards.
Our Colombia Geisha is a limited release of 100% Red Gesha, the variety behind the world's most famous and priciest coffees. Slow fermented and dried with care for delicate jasmine florals, peach and honey. Best as a filter, pour-over or AeroPress, or a carefully dialled light espresso.
